The scene: Piotr Rasputin and his family have been saved by Vahzin (with help from Xavier) when a black ops team tries to extract him for Russia's Super Soldier Program. The raid has left the Rasputin farm covered in rubble, with broken buildings and a crashed helicopter all over the place. Piotr is distraught from having to deal with his mutation outside of the family, confused, and feeling incredibly lost and scared. He is in his metal form.
